EJI - Freedom Monument Sculpture Park

Patt Conservation was honored to provide conservation maintenance for artworks at the Equal Justice Initiative’s Legacy Sites in Montgomery, Alabama in May, 2026. The Equal Justice Initiative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to public education, remembrance, and justice through site-specific museums, memorials, and publicly accessible art that confront the history of enslavement, racial terror, segregation, mass incarceration, and the ongoing struggle for civil rights in the United States.

Our work included careful cleaning, condition assessment, protective maintenance, and documentation of outdoor sculpture and memorial elements, using conservation-appropriate methods and materials to support the long-term preservation of these powerful artworks and the histories they help carry forward; a sample gallery is below.
